Sleep Country clothing drive benefits Tukwila's foster children
August 30, 2012 · Updated 4:00 PM
Sleep Country’s recent Clothing Drive for Foster Kids collected 11,502 items of new clothing for the nearly 20,000 foster kids in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon.
The donations given at the Southcenter store will directly support foster children and their families in Tukwila through service by Bethany Christian Services, Community & Family Services Foundation, Intensive Children’s Services, Olive Crest and Treehouse.
New clothing items were donated at all Sleep Country locations from June 4-July 22 and were distributed among 18 foster care non-profit partners in the Northwest.
Sleep Country is also collecting new school supplies through Sept. 9 for its School Supply Drive for Foster Kids. Donations can be dropped off at any store location or this Sunday, at Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way, for half off admission to the park.
