Nearly 450 bicycle helmets given to children in Tukwila

Seattle Children's Hospital and Kohl's gave away about 450 bicycle helmets to children at a Sept. 8 event at Kohl's Tukwila location.

The event also featured demonstrations on how to properly fit a helmet. For more information, go to makesurethehelmetfits.org.

Doppler, the Seattle Storm’s mascot for the WNBA, made an appearance to the delight of the children.

Kohl’s district manager Mike Whatley presented a check for $209,912 to Seattle Children’s to continue to fund the Kohl’s Helmet Safety Program at the hospital.
