Tukwila woman reportedly gets into argument, leaves teen daughter and friends along I-5

A Tukwila woman is facing a charge of child abandonment after reportedly leaving her teenage daughter and three of her daughter's friends along Interstate 5.

According to King County prosecutors, Daisy Sanchez, 41, got into an argument with the teenagers while driving along I-5 during the late afternoon of July 16 in Federal Way. She pulled off the highway, stopped the car and reportedly ordered the girls out onto the shoulder.

A responding State Patrol trooper picked the girls up along the highway, then drove them to the home of one of their parents, after Sanchez reportedly refused to come get them on the highway.

Later, the trooper, in the company of another trooper, went to Sanchez' home, reportedly finding her passed out. She became combative after being placed in a patrol vehicle.

Sanchez faces a charge of third-degree abandonment of a dependent.
