Auburn Police arrested a 16-year-old boy Monday night at a relative's house in Kent for investigation of second-degree murder in connection with the Sunday evening shooting at an Auburn apartment complex that left a 16-year-old boy dead and two others injured.
James Anthony Mills was booked in the King County Juvenile Detention Center in Seattle, according to a Tuesday media release from Auburn Police. Detectives are following leads to recover the weapon used in the incident as well as other evidence.
Mills and another teen allegedly fired shots at a barbecue party at about 5 p.m. Sunday at the Aspen Meadows Apartments in the 400 block of 21st Street Southeast that killed one youth and seriously injured two others.
In the midst of the altercation, Mills allegedly opened fire and shot the victim multiple times.
