Foster High School's principal, Forrest Griek, has resigned, effective June 30.
A reason for his resignation wasn't given in information provided by the Tukwila School District.
A search for a new principal is under way.
Janet Barry, a former Seattle-area school superintendent and consultant with Chicago-based Hazard Young Attea and Associates (HYA), will hold several meetings to gather input from students, staff and the community to develop a candidate profile.
The community meeting is 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Foster High School Library, 4640 S. 144th St., Tukwila.
Interpreters will be available in Spanish, Somali, Vietnamese, Nepali and Burmese.
The attendees will consider three questions:
1. What do you value about Foster High School?
2. What are the issues and challenges of Foster High School now and in the next five years?
3. What are the most important characteristics you want to see in the new principal for Foster High School?
HYA is the same firm that is directing the search process for a new superintendent for the Tukwila School District.
