Tukwila School Board to consider superintendent candidates Saturday
The Tukwila School Board will hold a special meeting Saturday, March 30, to consider the three candidates for superintendent of the Tukwila School District.
The board will convene an executive session to review the applications of Mellody Matthes, the interim superintendent, Tony Byrd, assistant superintendent of the Edmonds School District and Nancy Coogan, executive director of schools, Seattle Public Schools.
After its deliberations the board will reconvene into a public session and vote on a new superintendent.
The new superintendent will begin in July; Matthes would continue to hold the interim position until the end of the school year if she's not selected as the new superintendent.
The new superintendent will replace Ethelda Burke, who resigned last summer.
