Tukwila School District selects Patricia Larson as new Foster High School principal

Patricia Larson, the principal of Career Academy at Truman High School in Federal Way, has been chosen as the new Foster High School principal.

Larson will take office after current principal Forrest Griek's resignation becomes effective June 30. Griek is resigning in order to spend more time with family.

Larson joins Foster and the Tukwila community with more than 14 years experience in education and a master's degree in Education Administration from Central Washington University. Larson also received her superintendent credentials from Seattle Pacific University.

Previous to her work with Federal Way Public Schools, Larson was the principal at Cascade Middle School in the Highline School District, before becoming principal at Kilo Middle school in Federal Way in 2007.

After a three-month search, three finalists were chosen and toured the school in one day during specified time slots on April 19.
