Seahawk Richard Sherman brings cleats, supplies, anti-bullying message to Foster
Seahawk cornerback Richard Sherman brought down the house Friday at the Foster homecoming pep rally, bringing new football cleats for football players and backpacks full of school supplies for at-risk students. Sherman came to Foster after football coach Matt Leonard wrote his foundation, Blanket Coverage, about Foster's unique challenges and strengths, including its high levels of poverty and diversity. He spoke to students about bullying and challenged Foster to a dance contest.
Foster's homecoming king and queen are Max Montoya and Hannah Schenck. The Bulldogs went on to beat Evergreen in Friday's homecoming football game, 25-19.
