Murder trial starts for man accused of shooting man at Tukwila motel in 2009

The murder trial started Monday in Seattle for a 30-year-old man accused of shooting another man in 2009 at a Tukwila motel. King County prosecutors allege that Gary L. Lipsey shot Kevin Camacho, 24, on March 16, 2009 outside the Spruce Motel in the 14400 block of Pacific Highway South, also known as Tukwila International Boulevard.

The funeral for 20-year-old Riley McCarthy of Tukwila, who died in an avalanche on Stevens Pass late Sunday afternoon, is Saturday at Foster High School. Riley, a 2009 graduate of Foster, is the son of John and Peggy McCarthy. Peggy McCarthy is the deputy finance manager for the City of Tukwila.
