The Tukwila Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating an attempted rape reported on Thursday night at the Duwamish Hill Preserve.
A woman told police she was attacked by an unknown man at about 8:25 p.m. while walking on a trail near the 3800 block of South 115th Street. She said the suspect, who had a firearm, grabbed her and attempted to pull her into the bushes, according to a media release from the Tukwila Police Department.
The victim broke free of the suspect and ran to safety, where she called 911.
A K-9 officer from Renton and the King County Guardian One helicopter searched the area for the suspect to no avail.
The victim was treated at the scene by the Tukwila Fire Department for minor injuries sustained in the struggle with the suspect.
