Foster wrestler Mark Schenck is the Seamount League’s champion in the 132-pound weight class.
He went undefeated in the subregional tournament Feb. 7 at Highline High School.
Schenck will compete in this weekend’s regional tournament in Lacey for a chance to compete in the state tournament, the Mat Classic at the Tacoma Dome Feb. 20-21.
Joining Schenck, a junior, at the regional tournament are Cale Woyvodich, who placed second at subregionals in the 120-pound weight class, Zane Galoia, who placed second at 220 pounds, and Kumar Teve, who placed fourth at 285 pounds.
Benjamin Vongtawan is an alternate at 285 pounds.
This is Schenck’s first league championship.
“Listening to my coaches and working hard in practice is how I’m able to win matches,” said Schenck, who has been wrestling for eight years.
The regional tournament starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at River Ridge High School, 350 River Ridge Drive S.E., Lacey.
