Sounders, Seattle Reign announce new partnership

Zulily, locally-based online retailer, is only the second jersey sponsor for the Sounders since 2009.

The Seattle Sounders announced its new jersey partnership with Zulily Jan. 17 at an unveiling event in Seattle.

Aside from partnering with the Sounders, Zulily is also partnering with the Seattle Reign FC of the National Women’s Soccer League.

The partnership is the first for the Sounders since 2009 — when the team joined the Major League Soccer.

Zulily — locally-based online retailer, headquartered in Seattle — was selected after a nationwide search, according to a media release from the Sounders.

“When searching for our next primary kit partner, we approached the process thoughtfully and with considerations beyond merely the front of our jersey,” Sounders FC Owner Adrian Hanauer said in the release. “In Zulily, we have found a first class, Seattle-based organization that is not only invested in our community, but has made meaningful commitments to the growth of our sport throughout the region.”

Zulily’s logo will be featured on first team match jerseys, team travel jackets, rain and stadium jackets and official team polos, the release stated.

In the future, Zulily will also be featured on the Sounders FC Academy jackets beginning at the U-12 level and moving up to U-16 and U-18 teams.

The release added, this is also the first time both of Seattle’s soccer teams will have the same jersey partner.

Sounders season ticket holders will also have the opportunity to win a 2019 Rave Green jersey every day in 2019 of the MLS regular season.
