The following is a press release from Seattle Sounders Women/U23.

The 2018 #Reload continues with the Sounders Women team hosting the Washington Premier FC U23 Women on May 26 at Sunset Stadium in Sumner. Game time is 8 p.m. and will pit two local clubs working within the player development pyramid helping women soccer players ascend in the game.

The Sounders Women have operated as a player development platform for nearly two decades, helping over 60 women find professional playing contracts and littering national team programs.

The WPFC U23 Women take over for the South Sound FC Women’s program and will work to build on a successful 2016 launch. Both clubs are currently coached by WPFC coaches Scott Ford with the Sounders Women and Adam Becker for WPFC U23 Women.

“We support WPFC and both of our teams sit in that bucket of player development right before players sign professional contracts. To work with Adam and WPFC to get a game benefits the WPFC alumni players returning for the summer and our Sounders Women players. All of these players need to stay sharp for their college seasons in the fall and look to move on in the game,” said Darren Sawatzky, Sounders Women General Manager.

Tickets for the game can be purchased here for WPFC families.

“I am excited to bring our WPFCU23 women to this exhibition game with the Sounders Women. Darren and I have a long history with connections between our clubs (including South Sound FC teams) and the Washington Premier connection to the Sounders Women is a great one with head coach Scott Ford and many WP youth Alumni on both teams. With this being my first season coaching the WP U23 women, I am excited tofind the highest level of competition anywhere we can to prepare us for a successful season in the NWPL,” said Adam Becker, WPFC U23 Women Head Coach.

Tickets can also be purchased at the gate and the Sounders Women full schedule can be found at . The Sounders Women kick off their WPSL home season on May 25 at Starfire Sports Complex with a double header with the Sounders U23 Men.
