Tukwila candy lovers had a reason to celebrate Jan. 27, when See’s Candies had its grand opening, of its new digs at Southcenter Square – 17100 Southcenter Parkway. The opening ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting with Tukwila Mayor Jim Haggerton and See’s Candies officials, as well as free samples, hats and lollipops for the youngsters.
The candy company, which dates back to 1921, also had a mini car show going on, with two drag racers and one of its vintage delivery vehicles.
The cars drew their own crowds, but the bigger crowds were all about the candy.
