The state Department of Labor and Industries will offer another round of free workshops, including one at its Tukwila office, for business owners and managers to answer questions about basic L&I services.

The workshop in Tukwila is from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 12806 Gateway Dr. S.

An “Employer’s Introduction to L&I” is a workshop providing information about wage and hour rules, workplace safety, contractor registration rules and paying your workers’ compensation bill, according to L&I media release.

“Understanding basic L&I rules can ultimately save business people not just time, but money,” said L&I’s small business liaison Celia Nightingale. “This workshop goes a long way toward answering typical questions a business owner would have.”

The workshops cover employers’ rights and responsibilities and provide an overview of the services L&I provides. Employers who attend will also learn about workplace health requirements, claims management strategies, risk management and quarterly reporting requirements.

To register, visit the office ahead of time, call 800-574-2829 or go to www.Workshops.Lni.wa.gov.
