The city celebrated a day of fun at the Tukwila Village on 14350 Tukwila International Boulevard on Saturday, July 21. There was live music, food, kids entertainment, speakers, a ribbon cutting and more for community members to enjoy on the hot summer day. Even U.S Senator Maria Cantwell was there to attend and speak during the ceremony. There was also a tour of the new SHAG facility — “Active Apartment Living for the Ageless Generation,” a press release from the city stated. For more information about SHAG, visit their website. The city decided to name the community center after Jim Sullivan, an active community member who has been involved with SHAG for 27 years where he served as Board President for most of that time, according to a press release.
