A body was recovered from the Green River near Southcenter Wednesday by City of Tukwila emergency crews, according to the Tukwila Police Department.
The initial reports of a body floating in the river were received at about 10:55 a.m. near the 15300 block of Interurban Avenue South. That report was confirmed by police officers and the Tukwila Fire Department was called in to assist with the recovery using a boat.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the identity of the person and cause of death.
The incident is under investigation by detectives from the Tukwila Police Major Crimes Unit.
