An individual received a superficial gunshot wound at about 5 p.m. Monday during a fight with three others inside Westfield Southcenter, according to the Tukwila Police Department.
Arriving Tukwila police officers identified and detained four subjects who were involved in the fight in which an unknown subject fired a single shot that struck one of the participants in the hand, according to Tukwila Police Commander Eric Drever,
The injury was treated at the scene by aid personnel. No one else was injured.
A handgun believed involved in the shooting was found during a search of the parking lot outside the mall’s north entrance. The make and model of the gun were not immediately disclosed. The suspect had not been identified Monday evening.
The detained subjects were being interviewed by detectives Monday night.
Officers from the Renton Police Department assisted in the response at the mall.
