The 12th grade civics class at Foster High School has organized a Candidate Forum today (Thursday, Oct. 15) for the Tukwila mayoral, City Council and School board candidates.
The forum is 7 p.m. at Foster High School, 4242 S. 144th St., Tukwila. The doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Running for an open mayoral seat are De’Sean Quinn and Allan Ekberg. There is one City Council race between incumbent Kate Kruller and Charles Tyson, and two council members, Kathy Hougardy and Dennis Robertson, are running unopposed.
There is one School Board race between incumbent Steve Mullet and Kevin O’Brien Gaw. Dana Scott and incumbent Dave Larson are running unopposed in their elections.
The candidates will respond to questions and discuss issues of important to Tukwila’s young people.
Questions from the entire community can be submitted online.
There also will be a chance to register to vote at the forum, with forms available in a number of languages.
Interpreters will be available in Burmese, Nepali, Somali, and Spanish
