The Washington State Patrol is seeking witnesses who saw a double-fatality accident on northbound Interstate 5 near Federal Way early Thursday morning (Dec. 17).
The victim vehicle, a 1987 two-door Honda Civic two door, was disabled and blocking the freeway near the right lane at about 1:40 a.m. when a 1992 Ford Mustang collided with it. Killed in the Civic were the driver, a 31-year-old Tacoma woman, and her passenger, a 51-year-old Puyallup woman.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 29-year-old Seattle woman, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way for treatment of minor injuries Her 1992 Ford Mustang was totaled. The lane was partially blocked for about three hours.
The Mustang’s driver was later determined to be impaired by drugs or alcohol, arrested and booked into King County Jail for vehicular homicide, according to the State Patrol.
