After several hours and several attempts to contact a stabbing suspect believed to be in an apartment Monday night, Tukwila Police officers Valley SWAT entered the apartment near Foster High School to find it empty.
The suspect, who is known police, apparently fled before officers contained the area, according to Officer Zack Anderson, a spokesman for the Tukwila Police Department.
Tukwila Police officers had responded at about 2:45 p.m. to a report a 14-year-old boy had been stabbed in the 14200 block of 42nd Avenue South. He had a minor laceration to his hand.
Officers learned the suspect, a middle-aged man, had fled to a nearby apartment complex.
Valley SWAT and negotiators were called in help resolve the situation. At about 8 p.m., Tukwila Police, with Valley SWAT and negotiators, attempted to contact the suspect, according to Anderson. When there was no response, they entered the apartment.
Police know the man’s name. “He is not believed to be a direct threat to the public,” according to Anderson.
