Tukwila’s Spirit of Giving Campaign will provide toys and necessities to dozens of families identified to “shop” at a special holiday event on Dec. 12 at the Tukwila Community Center.
But first the campaign needs to collect the toys and those necessities, such as toiletries, grocery cards and warm clothing, through donations.
A big part of that donation drive is the annual Spirit of Giving Toy Collection Event, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Westfield-Southcenter.
The event is located near the Westfield’s entrance between Joey’s and Duke’s at the Tukwila Police Community Resource Center.
The city will be accepting new toys, plus cash and food for Tukwila Pantry.
Those wishing to participate in the Spirit of Giving Campaign can contact Stacey Agmata at 206-768-2822 or stacey.agmata@tukwilawa.gov. Volunteers are needed for the holiday event on Dec. 12 and the days leading up to it.
The families who will receive the toys and the necessities were identified by counselors and social workers at Tukwila’s schools and the city’s Human Services Division.
