A city of Tukwila street worker was injured Wednesday afternoon when he was run over trying to stop a male suspect from stealing his city vehicle in the 15200 block of Macadam Road, according to the Tukwila Police Department.
The employee was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. “He’s doing fine,” said Sgt. Steve Gurr with the Tukwila Police Department.
The city vehicle, a blue 1988 Chevrolet truck with a dump bed, was recovered later about 10 or 15 blocks away, according to Gurr.
The incident is under investigation by the Tukwila Police Traffic Unit and detectives from the Tukwila Police Major Crimes Unit.
