The Foster boys basketball team is back in the postseason, after nearly reaching the state 2A tournament in Yakima last season.
The boys play Sammamish High School at 7 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 12) at Sammamish High School, 100 140th Ave. S.E., Bellevue, in the district 2/3 2A tournament.
Last season the Bulldogs placed third in the district tournament.
The Totems are the 2A champions in the KingCo League, with a record of 16-4. Foster finished sixth in the Seamount League with a league record of 4-16. Sammamish beat Foster 82-50 at a home game on Jan. 17.
Last year, the Bulldogs fell just one win short of the state tournament with a 64-53 loss to Hockinson High School in the regional 2A basketball tournament.
If the Bulldogs lose Thursday, they’ll play again at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Curtis High School, 8425 40th St. Court W., University Place. A loss in that game will end the team’s season.
The teams on this side of the district tournament bracket play for the fifth and sixth places in the district tournament.
If the Bulldogs win Thursday, they’ll play again at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Foss High School, 2112 S Tyler St., Tacoma. This bracket determines the top four places in the district tournament.
