The Foster girls basketball team beat Clover Park 39-26 Feb. 21 in a West Central District 2A game to lock up a state berth.
The Bulldogs (16-9) bounced back from a 63-58 loss to Eatonville Feb. 17 in the second round of districts to win two straight loser-out games and make state.
Foster first beat Sequim 74-54 Feb. 19. The Bulldogs trailed 14-12 after the first quarter, then got going on offense and cruised to a victory. Foster scored at least 20 points in each of the last three quarters. Shantell Jackson led all scorers with 27 points.
Against Clover Park, the Bulldogs pulled out to a 12-5 and held on despite scoring just 11 points in the second and third quarters combined. Jackson led the team with 17 points. Sahara Hill added nine.
Foster plays W.F. West in the first round of the 2A state tournament Friday at 8 p.m. at Black Hills High School.
W.F. West is 18-6 and finished the regular season tied for second in the 2A Evergreen League.
