YOHANNA SALZANO, Foster

Grade: Sophomore.

Sport: Cross country.

Accomplishment: Salzano torched much of the field at the Class 2A sub-district meet, clocking a 19:27.8 and finishing in fourth place. Salzano built upon that success and became the school’s lone state participant.

Favorite class: World History.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (Olympic swimmer) Michael Phelps and I would serve him cheese pizza.

Greatest athletic moment: When I got first place in my first cross-country meet.

Most recent book read/author: “Siddartha” by Hermann Hesse.

Favorite movie: The Hangover.

What’s currently playing on your iPod: “Black and Yellow” by Wiz Khalifa.

In 10 years, I will be … : Going to USC and getting my PhD for Sports Medicine.

Also noted: Salzano plans on attending either Stanford or USC after high school and going into the medical field.

LIZBETH HERNANDEZ, Foster

Grade: Junior.

Sport: Soccer.

Accomplishment: Hernandez scored a pair of goals in a late-season, 6-0 win over Tyee.

Favorite class: Personal Fitness.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Everyone I know. I’d serve Thai food.

Greatest athletic moment: Athlete of the Week for the second year.

Most recent book read/author: “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini.

Favorite movie: “The Holiday” and “Bride Wars.” What’s currently playing on your iPod: Trey Songz.

In 10 years, I will be … : An engineer.

Also noted: Hernandez plans to attend Washington State University after high school and aspires to help third-world countries one day.

JAKE NEWNOM, Foster

Grade: Sophomore.

Sport: Golf.

Accomplishment: Newnom fired a 95 during the Class 2A district tournament at North Shore Golf Course in Tacoma. The score was fifth among Class 2A players, and puts Newnom on the cusp of a potential state berth.

Favorite class: World History.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Megan Fox! I would serve the finest food possible.

Greatest athletic moment: Freshman year, baseball, pinch-hitting with bronchitis and got a game-changing RBI.

Most recent book read/author: “Siddartha” by Hermann Hesse.

Favorite movie: Step Brothers.

What’s currently playing on your iPod: Kid Cudi.

In 10 years, I will be … : Settled down with a family.

Also noted: Newnom plays varsity baseball at Foster and is part of Future Business Leaders of America.

TUIFUA TAUSINGA, Foster

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Football.

Accomplishment: Tausinga, a wide receiver, pulled in nine receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown in a 34-26 playoff-clinching victory over Renton. Favorite class: Civics.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: (San Francisco 49er linebacker) Patrick Willis and whatever he wants to eat. Maybe some ribs, potato salad, and anything else.

Greatest athletic moment: 57-yard (interception returned for a touchdown) my sophomore year in the pouring rain at North Thurston.

Most recent book read/author: The Bible. Favorite movie: Gridiron Gang or Lion King.

What’s currently playing on your iPod: “Redemption Song” by Bob Marley.

In 10 years, I will be … : Playing in the NFL.

Also noted: Tausinga aspires to play football in college, where he will major in business or oceanography.

TIGEST ABEBE, Foster

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Soccer.

Accomplishment: Abebe found the back of the net twice in one game during a late-season, 4-1 victory over Renton.

Favorite class: AP Government.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: (UW fastpitch star) Danielle Lawrie. I would serve hamburgers, fries and Thai food. Matter of fact, I would just have a buffet for us.

Greatest athletic moment: When my team made a big comeback to beat Renton 4-1 on senior night.

Most recent book read/author: “The Best Bad Luck I Ever Had” by Kristin Levine.

Favorite movie: Mulan. What’s currently playing on your iPod: Ne-Yo.

In 10 years, I will be … : A doctor.

Also noted: Abebe also plays basketball and fastpitch for the Bulldogs, and sports a 3.3 grade-point average.
