Sounders FC fans are invited on Wednesday, Dec. 6, to send the team off to its Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup rematch in Toronto.
At 10:30 a.m., fans in attendance may view the final 25 minutes of the day’s training session – scheduled to take place on Field 12 at Starfire Sports, 14800 Starfire Way in Tukwila.
The club travels to Toronto on Wednesday afternoon to finish its preparation for Saturday’s MLS Cup game with the chance to bring back-to-back championships to Seattle.
Recognizing the important role that its fans play in the club’s success, and honoring the fact that the team is defending the MLS Cup, which belongs to the entire community, Sounders FC encourages its fans to attend this final day of training and send the team off with well wishes.
Starfire Sports and the city of Tukwila helped organize this sendoff event, as they did last year.
Due to travel time constraints, fans are asked to refrain from seeking autographs and posed photos with players during the send-off to ensure an expedited team departure to Toronto.
Fans arriving before 10:30 a.m. will be directed to gather in the parking area outside of Field 10 until the training session is opened for fan viewing. Space is limited in the practice viewing area and is available on a first-come, first-served basis, though there is plenty of space for all interested supporters to line the player walkway from the pitches to the locker room as the team heads inside.
