The Sounders U23 soccer team will host open tryouts on Saturday, March 25, and Sunday, March 26, at Sunset Stadium in Sumner.

The U23 team has played in the Premier Development League (PDL) for the past five seasons and has helped more than 55 players get professional contracts. The team is the amateur affiliate of the 2016 MLS Champion Sounders FC as well as S2, the Sounders FC USL team.

Players must be 18 years old to tryout but the PDL allows over-age players so any person over 18 can tryout.

All players must register to tryout. Interested players can register at

The tryout will be from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 25. Players from the Saturday trial may be asked to attend an invite-only game from 9-11 a.m. on Sunday, March 26.

Players need shinguards and appropriate clothing for the weather. All players must sign a waiver on the day of tryouts in order to participate. Cost for the tryout is $50. For more information, contact U23 coach and general manager Darren Sawatzky at
