Foster wrestlers Cale Woyvodich and Luis Cuellar qualified for the state tournament, but an injury in the regional tournament last weekend ended Woyvodich’s season.
Cuellar, a sophomore, placed fourth at the Region 2 tournament in Hockinson, with two wins and two losses at 113 pounds.
He’ll compete in the Mat Classic in Tacoma this weekend. His first opponent is Bryce Bock, a Centralia High School sophomore, who was the Region 3 champion.
Woyvodich, wrestling at 120 pounds, won his first match with a pin in 54 seconds. He was injured in his second match, which he won 4-2 in overtime. He was unable to wrestle for the championship title, which went to Grant Gaspar from Ridgefield High School by default.
Woyvodich, a junior, has placed fourth in the last two state tournaments.
David Patton wrestled at 160 pounds in the regional tournament, losing both his matches.
