Mattress Discounters has opened a new store in Tukwila at 17275 Southcenter Parkway.

The California-based chain opened 11 stores last week in the Pacific Northwest, including locations in Covington and Federal Way.

Founded in 1978, Mattress Discounters is the largest mattress discounter in the West, boasting more than 70-stores in California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington, according to a company media release. The company is a favorite of customers who seek a streamlined, frills-free shopping experience to get the best price on brand name mattresses (or the mattress is free).

“We’re thrilled to be entering the region with a dozen stores and responding to demand from consumers who shop first and foremost on price,” said Rob Killgore, Mattress Discounters chief operating officer. “The opening of these new stores in the Northwest is the beginning of a growth strategy that anticipates the opening of another dozen stores over the next twenty-four months.  Our goal is to be the first and only stop for customers who want discount prices on a brand name mattress.”

Store hours in Tukwila are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Other locations were opened last week in Lynnwood, Covington, Silverdale, Tacoma, Burlington, Everett, Seattle, Federal Way, Longview and Wood Village, Ore. The company plans to open a store in early 2012 in Portland.
