“The City of Tukwila is excited to welcome collegiate US Lacrosse to our fine city,” said Jim Haggerton, Mayor for the City of Tukwila. “Lacrosse is an excellent sport and Starfire is the perfect facility to host it. We hope people from around Puget Sound area  and beyond will come to participate in this historic occasion.”

Maryland was the runner up in the 2011 NCAA tournament. The team has two local products on the roster, Landon Carr out of Curtis High School and Drew Snider out of O'Dea.
