Foster football player named WIAA Athlete of the Week

Foster High School’s Blessing Leiato was named the 2A Washington Interscholastic Activities Association boys Athlete of the Week for his performance in the bulldog’s football season opener against Ingraham High.

The senior rushed for 352 yards, scoring five touchdowns on 26 carries in the 45-39 victory. He average 13.5 yards per carry.

Each week throughout the school year, the WIAA recognizes a boy and girl varsity athlete from each of the six classifications, who exhibited an outstanding performance for the previous week based on nominations.

Each winner receives a letter of recognition from the WIAA executive director, a commemorative WIAA Athlete of the Week promotional item and a certificate.
